I am very reluctant to reply to anon messages. If you have an opinion on something you should feel free to voice and stand behind it. Anyways, as I don’t want to step on anyones toes, I still want to answer it.
I have only discovered the work of noh8 a few months ago and have not come across any negative responses so far. I was impressed with the support they are getting and think it is a simple, fun and beautifully creative idea to show your support not by simply signing some paper that can easily be tossed away, but to show your face and stand up for what you believe in! I love the connection it is creating between the thousands of people that meet up and have their photographs taken.
I am a photographer myself and currently study communication design. I have always tried to tell stories and awake some kind of emotion within my audience. My style is usually a bit on the mystical, abstract side of things with lots of details. Having the photographs of photographer Adam Bouska as an inspiration made me try out a new way of taking photographs and I was positively surprised of my work.
Whatever you do in your life, you will always have some people in this world disliking it. That’s natural. But I think with over 34000 people supporting the campaign (and lots more who haven’t got their picture taken but still support it) there must be a lot of good in this.
